The U-Step will not roll unless you are ready to walk. When you lightly squeeze a hand brake, the unit will roll with you. Once you release the hand brake the unit will stop immediately. This feature is particularly helpful when standing up from a chair because, the unit will not roll away from you. The unique U-shaped base provides a stable foundation for the unit. The user is braced in every direction, which nearly eliminates the risk of falling. Most individuals can safely walk three to four times faster with the U-Step Walker, as compared to using a standard walker. The wheel configuration allows the user to turn around easily and safely in an area as small as 29 inches, compared to 50 inches for most other advanced walkers. At 22 inches wide, users can easily walk through narrow doorways. The patented spring-loaded front caster system glides easily over uneven surfaces, such as indoor molding strips and cracks in the sidewalk. This avoids sudden jolts as well as the use of energy in lifting a walker over small obstacles. The laser light helps prevent freezing episodes.
